Since I started on this path of paper-crafting obsession I've pretty much just sat down and went from there when making cards, putting it together as I went along. But yesterday I made my first pre-planned card, start to finish, from scratch by Bob! Very excited about it.
I created a sketch for the card on the comp first, so I wouldn't get lost along the way, as I normally do. I made a special trip to Michael's for the card-stock specifically for this card, and I didn't buy any extras (that itself is quite an amazing feat!) I had a specific occasion in mind when I made the card, it's for my friend's USC MBA Graduation. And I also made the envelope to match! So all those things were firsts for me. Hell being that well organized, and neat about it all is a once in a blue moon thing for me.
I think it turned out great, at least for my skill level and patience. It's not the the greatest card ever, but I do believe it is decent and I hope it is well received! But if it isn't, the Taco Truck at the graduation party tonight will lessen the blow!
Here's the card I so painstakingly worked on:

I do feel slightly bad b/c this was not the only USC Graduation of the week. I went to one (for Slutbanger) on Wed and I didn't make her a card :( But she really isn't the card type (tho I did have a "Kindergarten Graduation" theme in mind.) Oh well, it's not like she won't have another Masters Graduation one day.
So on to the "some other stuff!" part....
I was browsing around yesterday and came across this project. Its really simple & super easy, and that is exactly what got me excited about it. I am no expert bowtier or maker, I couldn't tie a pretty/neat bow if my life depended on it, so I figured I'd only be using pre-tied bows for my creations. That is not the case now, sometimes I will be making my own bows! I even made a bow out of a promotional notepad at work:
And I guess that's it for now. I had a few other things I wanted to include but they were non-craft things and this seems to be more of a craftcentric post. And really, who besides Bob is reading this anyhow? I'm really just talking to myself. But maybe I'll write another post with those other things later anyhow, I mean I do like to hear myself talk and all!
